AWDF Supports Childrens Leadership Program in Atlanta Georgia 03/11/2010

They are called the CAMELA STARS : Cameroon Emmerging Leaders Association. The Mission is to mentor young children in Atlanta to become leaders of the future.

African Women's Foundation proudly supported the CAMELA stars at their 2008 launching in Atlanta Georgia. The event took place in a park, it was fun for the children who played various games, recited poetry and a fashion show for the little princes and princesses was fabulous. The children are made to learn about their two cultures, the American and Cameroonian cultures.

AWDF ditributed special mugs donated by Miss Mfonobong Essiet, the reigning Miss Africa USA at the time. The Mugs had a picture of the Queen. The children can look up to the Queen who is not only a young leader, she also inspires the children to take their education seriously. The Queen's ambition is to become a thorcic surgeon in the future and she is enrolled in a Masters Program In a university in Florida.

The Children certainly loved the gifts from the Queen.
